Goals of the Purpose

Essential contribution of the tourism business to protect biodiversity by

• Integration of biodiversity aspects in CSR-processes, certifications and standards as well as awards relevant for tourism business
• Sensitization of tourism enterprises for the protection of biodiversity and for a structured management of biodiversity through CSR-processes, certifications and standards
• Enhancement of the attention of tourists for the value of biodiversity via ways and instruments of communication of the tourism business

Further specific Goals

• A field guide (Biodiversity Checklist) for different sectors within the tourism branch
• Exemplary implementation in at least two CSR-processes / standards/ Labels
• Editing of examples for a successful integration of biodiversity in business management as well as CSR-coverage
• Implementation of a knowledge pool for background information, examples, plactical instruments etc for the tourism business beyond the duration of the project
