In the run-up to the 9th Conference of the Parties (COP9) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which will be held in May 2008 in Bonn with an expected number of over 5,000 attendees, the environmental foundation Global Nature Fund (GNF) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH organised a conference on  Business and Biodiversity on 2nd and 3rd April 2008 in Bonn. The question of how companies can contribute to realize the internationally recognized objective to slow down the rate of biodiversity loss by 2010 and to successfully implement the Convention on Biological Diversity were major conference issues.
