Global Lake Marathon 2021

24-hour online event
Friday, 26 November 2021

The 24-hour online event on Friday, 26 November 2021, will take you from Asia to Europe and Africa to the Americas with exciting contributions from around the world. A German-language module on "Lakes and Climate Change" took place from 1 pm.

The online marathon was organised by the Hungarian Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency (LBDCA) with the support of the Global Nature Fund (GNF) and many other Living Lakes partner organisations.

The aim of the marathon is to raise awareness about the diversity of lakes and wetlands and the need for their sustainable management. The 24-hour programme is divided into several event blocks, which were organised by a Living Lakes partner of the respective region.
