Global Nature Fund (GNF)

Dear GNF-Supporters,

Today we have some sad news: Prof. Dr. Harald Kächele, long-standing Chairman of Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH), passed away in February of this year. Harald Kächele played an active and formative role not only at DUH, but also at the Global Nature Fund (GNF). Many of his suggestions have helped the GNF move forward and make it more sustainable.

Harald Kächele had the gift of combining serious matters with humor: He made people laugh and think. His speeches and lectures, serious but nevertheless entertaining and humorous, were something very special and will remain a vivid memory. Harald Kächele's legacy remains with the DUH and the GNF - and all the people he inspired.

We will continue to carry this enthusiasm and memory with us in our work. We are pleased that we as GNF can also reach many people with our projects, for example with lake protection in Rwanda. You can learn more about this in today's news.

Enjoy the read,

PS: Our project work would not be possible without your support. Please help us with your donation so that we can inspire even more people worldwide to protect biodiversity. Thank you.
