GNF - Your Support at the End of the Year 2021

Steps and activities for climate protection.

Please help us at the end of the year!

What a year it has been. Forest fires, storms, floods and droughts ravaged our planet and people. In Europe, too, this brought the climate crisis noticeably closer. The long-term impact of our actions on the environment and the climate was made clear in the summer by the devastating floods in western Germany - many families lost their livelihoods and nature was also massively damaged.

Our projects are helping to reduce the global impact of climate change. We work for deforestation-free supply chains, advocate for more biodiversity and protect the precious mangrove forests, which are an extremely valuable CO2 reservoir.

Many of our project partners have been in an exceptional situation for months and are only slowly getting back on their feet. Several projects could not be implemented as planned and there is a lack of financial resources to cushion the impact of the global pandemic on our projects. We therefore urge you to help and support us and our partners in developing countries in these difficult times. Our planet is in danger and we can all do something about it. We thank you very much for your help!

We wish you and your family a wonderful Advent season and a healthy New Year!

Our topics and Projects

Living Lakes & Water

In the Living Lakes network we protect lakes and wetlands worldwide. Our goal is to preserve habitats and drinking water reserves, to secure the supply of healthy drinking water and to reduce microplastic.

Nature Conservation & Environmental Education

We realize Europe-wide activities for environmental education, make barrier-free nature experience possible, promote measures for species protection and preserve traditional cultural landscapes.

Development Cooperation

Improving the quality of life of people in the Global South is a central concern of ours. Sustainable development in the areas of fisheries and tourism as well as the preservation of the threatened mangrove forests, which are so important for our climate, are our focal points.

Business & Biodiversity

In dialogue with the business community, we design company premises to be close to nature, develop organic standards for food, promote sustainable agricultural production and call for the introduction of a transparent supply chain law.
