The 2013 "Water For Life" UN - Water Best Practices Award

The network Living Lakes has been selected as one of three finalists in the category I “Best Water Management Practices” in the framework of the UN-Water Decade “Water for Life” Best Practice Programme. The Award was launched by the United Nations in order to support the International UN Decade "Water for Life" 2005-2015 and the UN World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP). The award recognizes outstanding best practices ensuring the long-term sustainable management of water resources and contributing to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Agenda 21 and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation.

Living Lakes GNF is one three finalists selected out of a total of 46 applications. Despite the fact that Living Lakes didn’t win, the nomination as one of three finalist is another good result and a recognition of Living Lakes’ high quality in “Best Water Management Practice”.
