Dear friend of the GNF,

the second year marked by the Corona pandemic is now coming to an end. This gives us a moment to pause and look back at the months that have already passed. Thanks to global digitalization, we kept in touch with all project partners throughout the entire period, as face-to-face meetings were rare.

This makes it all the more important to stay in touch through our joint work and projects. In the border area between Nepal and India, for example, we are in the process of reducing the potential for conflict between people and wildlife and creating the necessary infrastructure. Sustainably produced bananas and pineapples, but also textiles and their certification are not only close to our hearts at Christmas time. With a view to different supply chains, we support different industries in sourcing their products worldwide without further deforestation, if possible.

You will find more information on a whole range of our projects below. In order to ensure this diversity in the future, we also rely on your support. Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your donations.

We wish you a relaxing holiday season and a healthy new year.

We hope you enjoy reading our newsletter.

Elephant conservation in harmony with local people

In the border region between Nepal and India, conflicts between wild animals and humans occur time and again. Sometimes these conflicts end fatally when crops or migration routes are defended. With improved infrastructure, peaceful coexistence can be ensured.

Biodiversity bears fruit

Products with sustainability labels are the better products - not only at Christmas time. In early December, we launched our campaign focusing on bananas and pineapples from biodiversity-friendly production.

Draft EU law against imported deforestation

The law with which the EU wants to live up to its responsibility shows gaps, but is nevertheless an important step to stop imported deforestation and will affect numerous companies.
