The European Business and Biodiversity Campaign led by the Global Nature Fund and implemented in cooperation with experts from the conservation groups IUCN Regional Office for Pan Europe, Fundación Global Nature and the Lake Constance Foundation and with private sector specialists from the environmental consultancy dokeo, Triple E Expertise Centre and the publishing company Altop. The campaign aims to emphasise the high importance of biodiversity and to engage companies in the protection and conservation of nature. It provides attractive options for sustainability officers and decision makers in enterprises to inform themselves on methods and instruments to evaluate the impact of a company’s activities on biological diversity.

"The conservation of biological diversity has the same dimension as climate protection. We need a trend reversal - not at some point in the future, but immediately", German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the official launch of the International Year of Biodiversity in January 2010.
