In summer 2010, the NGOs Wildsight, the Lake Winnipeg Foundation and Global Nature Fund created the Living Lakes Network Canada, which links science to action by supporting water stewardship efforts in Canada. The network will build on the existing successes in stewardship, enabling organisations from across Canada to share knowledge and experience, and build capacity towards enhancing, protecting and restoring water-based ecosystems.
Living Lakes Network Canada is a network of action-oriented NGOs that facilitate and initiate projects in the fields of science, education, and restoration, that result in long-term protection of our precious freshwater resources. The network relies on the capacity of Canadians to protect their watersheds while fostering a change in water ethics in Canada.
