Encourage. Empowering People. The Siemens Stiftung wants to empower people to actively address the social challenges of today and thereby refers ideally to the values of Werner von Siemens. Together with cooperation partners, the foundation designs and implements local and international projects with the aim to promote individual responsibility and self-initiative. The Foundation is committed to enlarging basic services and social entrepreneurship, promoting education and strengthening of culture. The Siemens Stiftung pursues an integrative approach and stands for responsible, impact-oriented and innovative project work. The foundation was established in 2008 and cooperates with the other six Siemens foundations established by the company in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany and the U.S. The project work of the foundation is concentrated on the focus regions Africa, Latin America and Germany/Europe.
Since 2010 the Siemens Stiftung supports the project „Drinking water for Kenya“ together with the Global Nature Fund. With the local partner organizations PureFlow we install water filtration technologies treating and cleaning rain and surface water through kiosks for rural communities, in order to ensure their access to potable water.
