The leisure travel company TUI supports different projects of the Global Nature Fund with focus on sustainable development.
In summer 2009, the project “Drinking cups for drinking water” was initiated by TUI in co-operation with the football club Hannover 96, the fan club “Rote Kurve” and the Global Nature Fund. During the season 2009/2010, the donated drinking cup deposit was spent for drinking water projects in Kenya. During the season 2010/2011, water well projects in Côte d´Ivoire and other drinking water projects in Kenya will benefit from the donations.
Within the frame of the triannual European Business & Biodiversity Campaign of the GNF, TUI plays an active part, in order to reconcile the protection of species and biodiversity with tourism activities.
