Our Living Lakes Partner BTCV turned 50 this year

The British Trust of Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year - in 2009. Engaging local communities in achieving sustained environmental improvements has been at the heart of BTCV for almost 50 years. The UK’s leading green volunteering charity is going to celebrate with an inspiring campaign that encourages financial support as well as volunteering. Tom Flood, BTCV’s chief executive, says: "So much has changed in the first fifty years of our history, yet our core values remain the same – to inspire people and improve places. We want to celebrate our first 50 years by showing what a difference green volunteering has made and does make to our lives and the environments we live in.”
