Saving energy and at the same time protecting sustainably the nature are two common goals of the Global Nature Fund and the enterprise Osram. A joint project at Lake Victoria in Kenya and Uganda promotes the use of LED lamps for night fishing and replace the normally used but polluting kerosine lamps.
Both fishermen and the environment benefit from the environmentally friendly lamps, which are recharged in so called Energy Hubs, with the aid of photovoltaic solar cells.
