Project period: 2004 - 2005

With the SolarSchiff-Netzwerk (Solar Ship Network) GNF intended to raise public awareness for solar powered navigation, concurrently providing an independent platform for the exchange of information and experiences for all actors involved in the solar sector: boat manufacturers, constructing engineers and boat operators. Another goal was to motivate politicians, representatives of environmental associations and solar initiatives as well as all interested people to cooperate with us in the network, and promote solar navigation as environment friendly and innovative mobility form.

 

The network aimed at improving the general frame for solar navigation. Proposals for financial support would be jointly developed, updating of industrial regulations encouraged, and innovative marketing ideas worked out.

GNF had established an internet site to inform interested persons on solar navigation in Germany quickly and comprehensively. Our network partners offered their services via internet and also had the possibility to find new cooperation partners via web.

 

This project was financially supported by the Ministry for Environment and the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) in the period of August 2004 til December 2005.
