Since 1998, Lufthansa has supported the international work of the Global Nature Fund. Among others, Lufthansa is a project sponsor of bird protection projects, such as crane protection, the symbol of the air line. Lufthansa’s corporate policy is geared towards sustainable development and focuses on environmental protection.
Since many years, participants of the Lufthansa Miles & More programme have the possibility to donate their bonus miles to aid projects among them selected Living Lakes projects. In 2010 and 2011, two GNF projects will be supported: a drinking water project in Kenya and “Trees for life”, a reforestation project in South Africa.
